Charlotte
Anderson Proprietor,
|
Dr.
Charlotte Anderson has combined her many years of
experience as a voice teacher with her knowledge of the Alexander Technique to
offer a unique instructional program that can be tailored to meet individual
needs. Her clients include vocal and
instrumental performers, actors, and public speakers, as well as others seeking
help with posture, range of motion, balance, coordination, and pain and stress
management.
In 1993, Dr.
Anderson graduated with a doctorate in vocal performance and pedagogy from the
Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University. She has performed extensively in opera,
recital, oratorio and symphonic song. As
a voice instructor, Dr. Anderson has, in addition to her studio work, served on
the faculty of Towson University,
East Tennessee State University, Emory and
Henry College, and
Virginia Intermont College. In 2003, she completed a 1600 hour, three
year training program to become a certified Alexander Technique teacher. Since then, Dr. Anderson has presented
workshops on the integration of vocal
and instrumental performance with body awareness through the Alexander
Technique. These workshops have included
presentations at the West Coast Clarinet Congress in Honolulu,
Hawaii, the
University of
Tennessee Opera
Program, music programs at
San
Francisco State University,
Milligan College, Emory and
Henry College, the
International Suzuki Flute Institute and an extended contract for Alexander
Technique instruction at the Barter Theatre in Virginia.Dr. Anderson
is currently providing instruction in voice and training in the Alexander
Technique at her studio in Kingsport, Tennessee. |
